Day in the Life: Shop Foreman

Assign jobs and work orders to technicians based on skill and workload

Supervise and support technicians in daily repair operations, to include coaching, mentoring and instructing on maintenance and repair work, and participate in performance planning and reviews

Review work orders for accuracy and completeness, communicating effectively with service writers/advisors, technicians and customers

Participate in repairs, reconditioning used equipment, setting up new equipment and assist with quoting service work

Maintain shop tool records, inspect/repair special tools, assist with shop safety meetings, and work in conjunction with service department leadership to accomplish business objectives

Need to Succeed

Technician experience in a shop or field role, with completion of Level 2 John Deere certification at minimum

Demonstrated progressive mentorship and leadership capabilities

Consistent proficiency scores and understanding of work order objectives and workload assignments

Daily use of company computer systems with ability to learn additional systems as needed

Internal employees applying must be in good standing with no performance or attendance concerns to be considered
