About The Role
Who we are looking for We design and run custom fixed income solutions for clients, ranging from government bond baskets through to complex Buy & Maintain credit funds. We’re looking for a Fund Manager who wants to build on their fixed income experience and help our growing desk in managing portfolios that deliver what we promise to our clients, taking early and increasing responsibility for looking after our clients’ assets. We want someone who is curious and questioning. Who has the desire and ability to help us improve our solution designs and our credit selection and process, so we can give each client even better outcomes. The base We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We are close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre. We offer flexible working where appropriate for a portfolio management role, balancing collaboration, client delivery and the requirements of running portfolios effectively. The team The Advanced Bond Beta team designs and manages high-quality fixed income portfolios for clients, ranging from government bond baskets through to more complex Buy & Maintain credit funds and bespoke fixed income solutions. We use a wide range of fixed income instruments and work closely with colleagues across portfolio management, trading, risk, operations, client teams and wider solutions. We are focused on careful portfolio construction, robust day-to-day controls and accurate implementation of client objectives. We are always looking for ways to standardise and automate our day-to-day work, so we can give extra care and attention to the things that make a difference. We value clear communication, strong risk awareness and practical improvements that help us deliver for clients. You will support the team in Be part of core portfolio management team responsible for running a wide range of portfolios. • Help design and implement solutions, ranging from simple to complex, from derivative light to derivative heavy portfolios. • Play an active part of our Buy & Maintain credit selection process, interacting with our team and wider into the credit analysts. • Communicate credit and trading decisions to others in the team. • Improve our clients’ experiences and how we report information to them. • Work out ways to improve our processes and systems. The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need • Good understanding of investment management processes and risks. • Good understanding of fixed-income products. • Strong interest and some experience in credit portfolio management. • A keen interest in capital markets. • An interest in making our processes more efficient. The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help • Sound experience in managing credit portfolios, and in particular Sterling credit, and old illiquid names. • Experience in selecting credits for Buy & Maintain mandates. • Interest in regulatory constrained mandates. • Design and use of optimisation techniques. • ESG within credit selection. • An interest in programming.
