About The Role
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) remains a pervasive human rights and public health challenge in Ghana, with profound and long-lasting consequences for the health, dignity, safety, and socio-economic well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Despite sustained efforts by the Government of Ghana, civil society organizations, development partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen prevention, protection, and response mechanisms, GBV continues to be a significant concern. Persistent social and gender norms, inadequate access to quality survivor-centred services, underreporting of cases, limited coordination, and resource constraints continue to impede progress, underscoring the need for sustained, coordinated, and rights-based interventions to eliminate GBV at all levels.
