VMware System Administrator

Responsibilities

• -Administer and maintain VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines.
• -Proactively monitor system performance and identify potential issues.
• -Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as patching, upgrades, and security hardening.
• -Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization-related issues.
• -Implement and manage VMware HA and DRS clusters for high availability and resource optimization.
• -Manage vSAN clusters, including provisioning storage, configuring storage policies, and monitoring performance.
• -Utilize virtualization migration tools for seamless VM migrations.
• -Implement and manage Veeam backup and recovery solutions, including failover testing and disaster recovery planning.
• -Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the smooth operation of the virtual infrastructure.
• -Document system configurations and procedures.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience as a VMware System Administrator.
• -Strong understanding of VMware vSphere architecture and components.
• -Hands-on experience with ESXi, vCenter Server, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and DRS.
• -Experience with vSAN cluster management and configuration.
• -Proficiency in using virtualization migration tools.
• -Experience with Veeam backup and recovery solutions, including failover and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge with Nutanix administration.
• Knowledge of VxRail infrastructure.
• VMware certifications (e.g., VCP)
