This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in strengthening AstraZeneca’s position in the cardiovascular, renal and metabolic (CVRM) therapy area, while shaping impactful medical initiatives and supporting the development of a high-performing field medical team. This role reports directly to the CVRM Therapy Area Lead.What you will doAs MSL Lead, you will work closely with the Therapy Area Lead, Medical Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape and deliver the medical strategy for the CVRM therapy area. You will lead the MSL team, support high-quality scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and key external experts, and help drive initiatives that improve patient care and outcomes across the healthcare <system.You> will also play an important role in coaching and developing team members, building strong strategic and functional capabilities, and ensuring the team delivers on key priorities with excellence.Key responsibilitiesCo-create and implement the medical strategy in partnership with the Medical TA Lead, relevant Medical Managers, and cross-functional stakeholdersIdentify unmet medical needs and evidence gaps, and help design medical solutions that support better patient care and treatment outcomesLead the MSL team in scientific engagement with healthcare professionals and key external experts across both marketed products and molecules in clinical developmentSupport transforming care initiatives by engaging relevant healthcare stakeholders in projects that improve therapeutic outcomesEnsure timely and high-quality delivery of key team objectivesCoach, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen both strategic thinking and functional excellenceDrive capability development planning in collaboration with the Therapy Area LeadMinimum requirementsMaster’s degree in life sciences or a related fieldAt least 2 years of experience in Medical AffairsExperience in product launches or in the development and execution of medical strategyExperience working in cross-functional teamsAbility to lead scientific discussions and communicate scientific content effectively to different audiencesVery good command of English and PolishStrong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare systemValid driving licensePreferred qualificationsBackground in biology, pharmacy, medicine, or a related disciplineAdvanced scientific degree in life sciences or a related fieldExperience as a Medical Manager, Medical Advisor, MSL, or in a similar Medical Affairs roleExperience managing a field Medical teamApproximately 5 years of experience in Medical AffairsStrong leadership and people management skillsWhy join AstraZenecaThis is more than a leadership role — it is an opportunity to help shape the future of medical engagement in one of AstraZeneca’s key therapy areas.
