Optical Design Engineer

Job Summary: The job description is for an optical design engineer with the following responsibilities: Conduct optical design, simulation, and verification of Coherent OTDRs and other metrology products. Work will include the optimization of the optical design, the building and characterization of prototypes, and the integration of the hardware with the device firmware. We are expecting the individual to troubleshoot and solve optical performance-related issues in various product development phases. Aside from the design the responsibilities will include the development, planning, and execution of engineering studies to improve performance. Support the transfer of new products and processes to manufacturing. Generate innovative technical ideas and contribute to the Intellectual Property Portfolio.
