Actuarial Full-Time AnalystDes Moines, IA
KKR Insurance – Actuarial
KKR is seeking a full-time Analyst to join the Insurance business on the Actuarial team, based in Des Moines beginning in July 2027. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in modeling and valuation, contributing to work that supports KKR's insurance liabilities and broader capital strategy. Analysts work both independently and alongside experienced actuaries. We're looking for candidates who are pursuing an actuarial career, bring strong analytical and programming skills, and are eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities
Calculate US Statutory, Tax, and GAAP reserves
Provide analysis for both statutory and GAAP balances and earnings impacts
Assist with the onboarding of new reinsurance deals
Conduct annual impact testing for potential assumption changes
Support audit and regulatory requests
Support the development and maintenance of the ALFA and Integrate actuarial models
Identify and implement process improvements, including developing macros/scripts (e.g., in Python or VBA), leveraging AI coding assistants, and enhancing file formats, documentation (e.g., Markdown), and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
Anticipated graduation date from an undergraduate program in December 2026 - June 2027
Area of study in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
Completion of at least two Society of Actuaries exams required
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Coding experience in
Python or other modern programming languages preferred (VBA experience also valued)
Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate development and debugging
Comfort writing and maintaining documentation in Markdown
Exposure to machine learning concepts, including reinforcement learning techniques, is a plus
Outstanding academic record
Comfort using AI tools to improve productivity and quality of work
Curiosity about and openness to adopting emerging AI technologies in day-to-day workflows
Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy and relevance
Strong critical and creative thinking across quantitative and qualitative work
Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and a drive to learn quickly
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work both independently and within teams
Skilled at managing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
Exceptional work ethic and sense of urgency
