Design Engineer

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join our growing design team. Reporting to the Design Manager , the Design Engineer will support the development, coordination, and delivery of high-quality design solutions on a major data centre project in Finland.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Design Manager in the development and coordination of project designs from concept through to construction and commissioning.
- Produce, review, and coordinate design drawings, calculations, and specifications in line with project requirements and relevant standards.
- Liaise with internal design teams, BIM teams, and external consultants to ensure coordinated and clash-free designs.
- Assist with the Technical Submittal (TS) process, ensuring submissions align with project specifications and programme requirements.
- Respond to design queries and Requests for Information (RFIs) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support the preparation and review of documentation and revisions.
- Participate in design coordination meetings, workshops, and internal reviews.
- Support change management processes by identifying design changes and assessing impacts on cost, programme, and constructability.
- Ensure design deliverables comply with quality, health & safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of as-built drawings, O&M documentation, and final handover requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years’ experience in a design engineering role within construction, engineering consultancy, or contracting environments.
- Experience on large-scale projects such as data centres, industrial, pharmaceutical, or commercial developments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of design coordination and construction methodologies.
- Experience working with BIM and digital construction tools is desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused approach.
