Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Distribution Manager, the Order Picker Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, picking, replenishment and staging of inventory throughout the Distribution Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate on Order Picker to pick customer orders from warehouse racking and designated storage areas
- Picks orders accurately using an RF Gun and/or manual ordering system while meeting established productivity and accuracy standards
- Replenish pick locations and move inventory throughout the Distribution Centre as required
- Safely maneuver equipment through warehouse aisles and racking while maintaining awareness of pedestrians and other equipment
- Perform required pre-use equipment inspections and report equipment damage, defects or safety concerns
- Ensure products are handled, positioned and secured safely to prevent damage
- Back up to cycle counts and inventory accuracy activities
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
- Follow all Company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements
- Perform other warehouse duties as required
The successful candidate must have and demonstrate the following
Minimum 2 years of experience operating an Order Picker in a warehouse or distribution environment
Demonstrated ability to safely operate an Order Picker in a racking environment and at elevated heights
Previous experience operating other MHE, such as forklifts, reach trucks or pallet jacks, is an asset
Experience using RF scanners/guns and warehouse management systems is an asset
Ability to safely lift and handle products weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to bend, crouch, climb stairs, and safely access elevated pick locations
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety
