Schedule

  • Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
  • Monday – Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Additional requirements

  • Average of 2–3 weekends per year
  • 1–2 weeknights per month of on-call coverage
  • Participation in a holiday on-call rotation

What You'll Do

  • Provide ongoing assessment of the physical, emotional, and mental statuses of patients/families.
  • Provide direct nursing care under the direction of an RN.
  • Use teaching, assessment, observation, and intervention skills to provide comfort and care maximizing patient/family quality of life.
  • Assist the RN in monitoring, observing, and reporting reactions to therapy and communicates responses to interventions promptly to primary RN.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Iowa state LPN license.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn work-related software and have basic typing skills.
  • Current Iowa driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and car insurance.

Preferred

  • 3-5 years of recent experience as a nurse in a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in hospice or home care nursing.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to travel throughout the service area and work in patient homes, healthcare facilities and office settings
  • Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, walking and driving throughout the workday
  • Pre-employment/post-offer physical, TB, and drug screen required
