Purpose Statement

Day Care Staff are responsible for maintaining a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered environment for students to grow and learn. S/he will help provide childcare before & after school during the school year, and upon successful completion of the school year, may be offered a summer position. Day Care Staff also plan weekly grade specific activities. 15-18 hours per week during the school year.

Responsibilities

Manage groups of up to 30 students
Plan weekly grade specific activities
Sign students into Day Care on an iPad
Serve afternoon snack
Assist students with homework
Maintain cleanliness of facility

Morning Devotions/Prayer

Secure campus at end of each workday
Monitor playground

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The typical work environment varies from a climate-controlled room to outside playground in various hot or cold temperatures.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
Local day travel is required during the summer

QualificationsQualifications

Previous experience working in an afterschool setting desired
Previous experience working with children
Ability to work before and after school preferred

CPR & First Aid Certified

Active membership/attendance at a Protestant Christian church (preferably CRC or RCA denomination) is required.
Supports the Mission and Doctrinal Statement of Valley Christian Schools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position involves consistently standing, walking, bending, squatting, and climbing to interact with the students
Occasional stooping, lifting, and carrying up to 75 pounds
Prolonged standing and walking on occasion, i.e. field trips
