Position Summary

The Recreation & Aquatics Experience Leader is responsible for creating an engaging, vibrant, and welcoming atmosphere at the Club's aquatic facilities by planning and delivering entertainment, recreational programs, and memorable experiences for Members and their guests. This leader supports staff training, scheduling, and service execution while collaborating with Aquatics, Food & Beverage, and Lifestyle teams.

The primary objective of this role is to foster social interaction, enhance member engagement, and create fun, memorable experiences that elevate the overall poolside experience.

Essential Responsibilities

Member Experience & Service

Promote a culture of hospitality that exceeds member expectations.

Coordinate poolside activities, family events, holiday programming, fitness challenges, and seasonal events.

Develop creative experiences that increase member engagement.

Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities, pool games, sports competitions, water-fitness classes, and family-friendly events.

Develop and facilitate age-appropriate programs and activities for children and teenagers.

Plan and coordinate the logistical, technical, and visual aspects of activities, including marketing and promotional materials, event registration, equipment, décor, and event setup.

Provide exceptional, personalized service to members and guests throughout the pool complex.

Welcome Members and guests while providing a warm, energetic, and engaging presence throughout the day.

Ensure towels, amenities, sunscreen, chilled towels, games, and comfort items are available and presented to Club standards.

Provide relevant aquatic class programming.

Build meaningful relationships by learning member names and preferences.

Proactively engage members throughout the pool and recreation facilities.

Resolve member concerns professionally and promptly.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, train, coach, and mentor Pool Concierge staff.
  • Coach team members on hospitality and service excellence.
  • Assist with scheduling, training, and onboarding.
  • Monitor service standards and provide performance feedback.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive service culture.
  • Cover shift when necessary.
  • Schedule aquatics instructors for appropriate classes.
  • Foster a positive, energetic, and collaborative work environment.

Operations & Facility Management

  • Conduct opening and closing inspections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the pool deck and concierge stations.
  • Monitor inventory and submit supply requests.
  • Coordinate with Aquatics, Engineering, Housekeeping, Youth, and Food & Beverage to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure aqua class schedules are up to date.
  • Ensure that check-in procedures are adhered to.
  • Manage retail inventory at the aquatic’s hub.
  • Ensure that locker rooms are clean and organized.
  • Order supplies when necessary.

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Support safe pool operations and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Maintain incident documentation and follow Club policies.
  • Ensure staff follow safety, sanitation, and service standards.
  • Ensure that all team member certifications are up to date.

QualificationsQualifications

  • Minimum two years of hospitality, club, resort, or luxury guest service experience.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

This position requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and moving throughout indoor and outdoor recreation facilities while leading activities, supervising operations, and assisting members. Associates must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, event materials, recreational supplies, and inventory weighing up to 50 pounds. The position requires sufficient vision, hearing, and communication abilities to safely perform job duties and respond appropriately to member needs and emergency situations. Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, heat, humidity, wet surfaces, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
