DescriptionPosition Summary
The Regional HR Generalist is responsible for administering and supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department in assigned regions, including onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, and policy enforcement. The Regional HR Generalist balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution, addressing both long-term goals and day-to-day HR demands to foster a positive, productive, and compliant work environment. This role requires a high level of confidentiality. A successful Regional HR Generalist is able to manage their time effectively, is detail oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. The Regional HR Generalist must also be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service skills when interacting with residents, associates and vendors.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure all pre-hire paperwork is completed and processed in Paycom HRIS before the employee’s start date
Ensure all new hire documents (I-9 forms, W-4s, direct deposit forms, etc.) are correctly completed and filed
Maintain and update employee records in compliance with labor laws and company policy
Partner with Regional Admins to continuously assess the onboarding process for efficiency and effectiveness
Administer a variety of associate benefits programs, including group health, health savings accounts (HSAs), dental and vision, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits; Ensuring all required documentation for benefits enrollment is completed within deadlines
Manage daily benefits processes for medical insurance, such as enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, and death claims
Handle 401(k) paperwork including rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, and hardship withdrawals.
Verify monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data related to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolve any administrative issues with carriers
Distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions. Provide support to group benefits associates, home office associates, and field staff
Administer the employee education reimbursement program
Manage FMLA and other provincial leave processes, including gathering and completing necessary paperwork, determining eligibility, and requesting medical certifications
Maintain communication with associates on leave to facilitate a smooth and timely return to work, acting as a liaison between associates and managers when needed
Serve as the point of contact for employee and management inquiries regarding leaves of absence and workplace accommodations. Coordinate with the HR & Payroll Manager as needed
Ensure company adherence to legal standards, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and other labor regulations
Collaborate with employees to determine reasonable accommodations to ensure professional success and provide resources and services
Audit tasks processed by HR Generalists each pay period to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Recommend revisions to company policies to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the Employee Relations Manager / HR & Payroll Manager
Recommend revisions to company policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Maintain and update HR folder with accurate department information for all employees
Assist with Paycom tasks as needed
Troubleshoot associate Paycom Portal access issues and questions timely
Upload necessary documents into Paycom cloud storage
Research HR questions received through Ask Here and email, and provide excellent customer service in a timely and positive manner
Actively stay up to date on HR trends and best practices as well as employment laws and regulations
Actively participate in a positive team environment through teamwork, communication and excellence in service; Communicate regularly with the Human Resources, Payroll and Recruiting teams
Actively demonstrate the values of the Weidner Customer Service Vision to team members, associates and external customers

QualificationsQualifications
- 2+ years of experience in human resources
- Strong knowledge of employment law, labor standards, and HR best practices and ability to interpret and apply sections of laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies
- Knowledge of federal and state FMLA, ADAAA, and pregnancy leave requirements; Specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration preferred
- Professional HR certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and discretion
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases and large projects simultaneously
- Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in HRIS and case management tools
- Experience with Paycom and Paycom Reporting desired
- Consistent close attention to detail and processes required
- Experienced in Microsoft products is a must (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Yardi and Paycom experience preferred; Willing and able to learn new software programs
- High degree of integrity with ability to keep sensitive information confidential
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and investigative skills
- Professional and positive demeanor and excellent interpersonal customer service skills
