Easpring Finland is developing a battery materials plant in Kotka to meet the growing demand for battery materials in Europe. The plant will produce cathode active materials required for electric vehicle batteries.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Utility Maintenance Technician to perform daily field inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational switching for plant utility systems at our Easpring battery materials facility in Finland. The ideal candidate has an electrical working background, hands-on experience with industrial facility systems, and the ability to collaborate closely with the central control room to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections, routine monitoring, and preventive maintenance on plant utility systems, including cooling/chilled water (cooling towers, chillers, heat exchangers, pumps), HVAC (AHUs, dehumidifiers, ventilation), compressed air, RO water purification systems, and the electric system.
- Troubleshoot utility equipment issues in the field, report abnormalities promptly, and collaborate with the central control room to perform manual system switchovers or activate backup lines during faults.
- Act as the primary field responder for electrical systems, ensuring safe operational switching.
- Complete assigned utility repair tasks on time to prevent unexpected breakdowns that could impact main production.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, inspection/repair records, and utility consumption data while supporting 5S onsite management.
Requirements
- College diploma or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Facility Management, or a related technical field.
- Electrical education background or working experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on maintenance experience with industrial utility systems (HVAC, chillers, air compressors, RO water, etc.) in a large-scale factory or chemical plant environment.
- Strong understanding of automated utility systems and the ability to seamlessly coordinate field actions with control room operators.
- Strong problem-solving skills, high safety awareness, and excellent teamwork abilities.
- Strong English language skills are required.
