Lyra is transforming access to life-changing mental health care through Lyra Empower, the only fully integrated, AI-powered platform combining the highest-quality care and technology solutions.Role Overview

At Lyra Health, we are transforming how data drives clinical and strategic decisions.

We are currently undergoing a major, high-velocity migration from legacy cube environments to a modern data stack centered on Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau (or Sigma).

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who is far more than a dashboard builder. We are looking for someone who can author insights. You have the technical muscle to wrangle messy data independently and the strategic intuition to translate complex logic into plain English for business leaders. You thrive in environments undergoing massive structural change, viewing tool transitions not as a disruption, but as an opportunity to build a faster, more reliable single source of truth.

Location: Remote, South Africa

Hours: 8am to 5pm; The role is a permanent five (5) day a week role (Monday to Friday).

Wi-Fi: While working off-site/remotely, the individual is expected to have reliable backup power supply and a strong, stable Wi-Fi connection as these are essential requirements for effectively performing in a remote capacity.

Flexibility: Given the global nature of the business, the successful candidate must be flexible to attend meetings outside standard local working hours to accommodate global clients and teams on occasion

Responsibilities

Core SQL execution & modern data transformation

  • Write advanced, highly optimised SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse complex datasets across changing environments
  • Partner closely with Data Engineering and Data Science to adopt and build dbt models, ensuring business and clinical logic is modular, tested, and cleanly documented
  • Actively participate in our migration to Snowflake, quickly mapping legacy data structures (cubes/spreadsheets) into modern cloud data warehouse topologies

High-impact report building & visualisation

Own the end-to-end design and delivery of executive-ready dashboards in PBI, Tableau (or Sigma), shifting our consumers away from static sheets to interactive, self-service insights

Maintain a ruthless standard for data accuracy, implementing personal audit and unit-testing processes to ensure reports are 100% accurate before they reach stakeholders

The "Author" Mindset & Stakeholder Collaboration

Take vague, complex business and clinical questions and independently design the underlying data logic

Deliver a crisp "Draft 1" to the hiring manager. This draft isn’t raw code; it is a plain-English flowchart of your logic, a data output sample, or a visual dashboard wireframe ready for strategic refinement

Act as a translator who can communicate technical data constraints to non-technical stakeholders calmly and clearly, protecting the team’s timeline from scope-creep

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years minimum of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or intelligence reporting

Advanced SQL Mastery: Expert-level ability to write complex queries, joins, and window functions across messy, relational databases

Visualiszation Expert: Proven track record of building intuitive, scalable dashboard suites (highly prefer Tableau, PowerBI, or Sigma)

Adaptive Tech Stack Learner: Direct experience with, or a fierce appetite to rapidly self-teach, Snowflake and dbt as we sunset our legacy systems

Rigor & Documentation: A personal philosophy that "documentation is part of the code." You naturally leave a clean paper trail (data dictionaries, wikis) so the broader team can easily scale your work.

Environment: Comfortable operating across the Google Stack, Slack-driven communication, and adapting to shifting corporate data landscapes.

You embrace change: You don't freeze when the underlying infrastructure moves; you jump on the learning journey alongside the team.

You are collaborative: You view feedback and rigorous peer reviews as "strategic editing" that sharpens your work, not a critique of your capability.

You don’t wait for a blueprint: You enjoy the autonomy of exploring data, finding the gaps, and bringing recommendations to the table rather than waiting for a micro-task list.

Qualifications

Tertiary degree or diploma in Statistics and Computer Sciences, Social Sciences/Humanities, Sociology, Health Sciences, Data Analytics, Science, Data Science, Finance or Business Management

Good knowledge in SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI and Tableau or Sigma

Ability to develop SSAS cubes in SQL server, including Tabular models

Excellent knowledge of SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers
