About Tin CanTin Can is building a safer, simpler way for kids to connect — without smartphones. We're creating screen-free, delightful devices and services that let families call the people who matter most, free from the noise of today's digital world. We're creating a bold, authentic, nostalgic, and kinda quirky brand that resonates with folks who want something simpler & better for their kids than the tech-infused lives we're currently living (and who have a sense of humor about it).As we gear up to reach more families both at home and abroad, we're looking to bring on someone who can build a lifecycle engine that stays personal even as we scale. The RoleThe Lifecycle Marketer is responsible for owning and optimizing Tin Can's email program, driving engagement, retention, and revenue growth through lifecycle marketing that feels as warm and personal as the connections we help families create. This role is both strategic and hands-on, leading the end-to-end execution of CRM campaigns in Klaviyo, from campaign planning and audience segmentation to automation, deployment, testing, and performance reporting. The ideal candidate is a builder who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys balancing strategy with execution. Working closely with our Growth Lead, Brand, and Product teams, this role ensures every customer communication feels timely, true to who we are, and grounded in what the data tells us.What You'll DoOwn the end-to-end execution of Tin Can's email program in Klaviyo, including campaign planning, audience segmentation, automation, deployment, and optimizationDevelop and manage the email marketing calendar in partnership with Growth and Brand to support product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaignsBuild, maintain, and optimize lifecycle automations including welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, post-activation, loyalty and repeat purchase, referral, and other customer journey programsCreate and refine customer segmentation strategies to deliver personalized communications that improve engagement, retention, and customer lifetime valueContinuously optimize campaign performance through A/B testing of subject lines, messaging, creative, offers, timing, and audience segmentationManage subscriber acquisition, list health, deliverability, suppression strategies, and compliance with applicable regulations including CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and GDPR where applicableCollaborate with Product to translate retention strategy into post-activation flows, onboarding sequences, and re-engagement triggers based on usage signalsPrepare regular reporting and performance insights, providing recommendations to improve conversion rates, engagement, deliverability, subscriber growth, and overall program healthStay current on CRM best practices, lifecycle marketing trends, and emerging technologies to continuously improve program performanceWhat We're Looking For4-6+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketingDeep, hands-on Klaviyo expertise: flows, segmentation, dynamic content, campaign deployment, and reportingComfort working across Shopify and non-standard purchase paths; you're not thrown by a customer journey with more than one entry pointStrong instincts for brand voice. You can take a rough brief and know when something reads as "too ecommerce" for a brand like oursExperience working closely with design teams. You know how to write clear briefs so they understand what you’re asking for, as well as the self-confidence to kindly push back if the end result doesn’t meet all your needsAnalytical enough to read cohort, retention, and revenue data and turn it into a testing roadmap, not just a send calendarA builder's mindset. You're excited to stand up a program largely from scratch, not just optimize an existing oneStrong, fast written communication and the organization to keep multiple flows, tests, and campaigns moving at onceWhy Join Tin CanWe're building tech that protects childhood: We're on a quest to give kids a more analog childhood — one with real conversations, real connection, and way less screen time. This is a rare opportunity to build something that truly <matters.Build> something from (almost) nothing: most lifecycle roles ask you to optimize an existing program. This one is yours to shape from the ground up, with the freedom to define what good looks like and real ownership over the results.A seat with real reach: your work touches nearly every part of the customer journey - giving you outsized influence over retention and revenue, not just one narrow slice of it.Small, high-trust team: Every company says "team," but at Tin Can it means something different. We're a small, mission-driven group that genuinely has each other's backs — professionally and personally. Your ideas and instincts matter from day one.If you're excited by the idea of shaping how thousands of families experience something simpler and better for their kids, please reach out. We can't wait to meet someone who's ready to jump in, set the bar, and help us grow.
