Independent Reviewing Officer (Social Worker Qualified)

Liquid Personnel is partnering with a forward-thinking local authority in Swindon to recruit a Quality Assurance Reviewing Officer (IRO).This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social work professional to play a key role in safeguarding children, driving service improvement, and providing independent oversight across Child Protection, Children in Care, and Fostering Reviews. This role is split into IRO & CP Chair and you will get a choice of which role you prefer.

The Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will

• Chair Child Protection Conferences, Children in Care Reviews, and Fostering Reviews
• Provide robust challenge and quality assurance to ensure positive outcomes for children
• Promote strengths-based practice and effective multi-agency working
• Ensure children's voices remain at the heart of planning and decision-making
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement across Children's Services

About You

To be considered, you'll need

Social Work England registration

A minimum of 5 years' post-qualified experience within Children's Social Care

Recent supervisory or management experience

Experience chairing complex meetings and managing professional challenge

Significant experience in Child Protection and Children in Care services

Expert knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and statutory guidance

A passion for quality assurance and achieving the best outcomes for children
