About The Role
About Loft Federal
Loft Federal is committed to delivering the U.S. national security space community a fast, affordable, and streamlined pathway to orbit. As a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Loft Orbital Solutions, Inc., we specialize in providing mission-ready space infrastructure with unmatched efficiency.
At Loft, we empower our team with autonomy, ownership, and bold problem-solving opportunities while fostering a tight-knit, supportive environment. We believe that diversity, inclusivity, and community are the foundation of an open and innovative culture. We value kind, collaborative, and mission-driven teammates who excel in problem-solving and communication—because great solutions come from great teams.
Are you ready to embark on this exciting journey with us? Loft Federal is seeking a Senior Subcontract Program Manager to help lead subcontract execution across federal space programs, proposals, and strategic supplier relationships.
This role will bring structure, ownership, and discipline to how Loft Federal manages subcontractors and suppliers across proposal, award, execution, delivery, and closeout. The Subcontract Program Manager will work across Programs, Contracts, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, Security, Quality, and Growth to ensure subcontractors are integrated into the overall program plan and held accountable to cost, schedule, technical, contractual, and deliverable commitments.
The right candidate will understand that subcontractor performance directly affects program execution, margin, customer confidence, and future capture. This person will be expected to operate in the details, identify supplier risks early, drive corrective action, and help build repeatable subcontract management practices as Loft Federal scales.
The Subcontract Program Manager will partner directly with Federal leadership, Program Managers, Engineering, Growth, Contracts, Legal, Finance, Procurement, Security, Quality, and external suppliers.
Why This Role Matters
Loft Federal is building and delivering complex national security space missions that depend on external partners, subcontractors, suppliers, payload providers, hardware vendors, software providers, and mission-enabling services.
Strong subcontract execution is critical to program delivery. A supplier delay, unclear SOW, unmanaged interface, late deliverable, invoice issue, security gap, or untracked assumption can quickly become a program problem, margin problem, or customer confidence problem.
This role will help Loft Federal manage subcontractors as an integrated part of the program baseline. The person in this seat will improve supplier accountability, proposal-to-execution continuity, program financial visibility, technical coordination, and issue escalation across current and future federal programs.
What You Will Own
Manage subcontractor execution across the full program lifecycle, including proposal support, source selection input, subcontract award, execution, delivery, modification, and closeout.
Lead subcontractor execution rhythms, including supplier status reviews, action tracking, deliverable tracking, issue resolution, and escalation.
Ensure subcontractors understand and execute against approved statements of work, technical requirements, schedules, deliverables, reporting requirements, security requirements, and contractual obligations.
Partner with Program Managers to integrate subcontractors into the overall program baseline, including schedule, budget, risks, deliverables, technical dependencies, and customer commitments.
Track subcontractor performance against cost, schedule, technical, quality, contractual, security, and deliverable requirements.
Coordinate with Engineering and Mission teams on technical progress, interface control, requirements allocation, verification planning, test readiness, delivery readiness, and acceptance criteria.
Work with Contracts and Legal on subcontract terms, flowdowns, SDRLs/CDRLs, modifications, funding limits, invoicing requirements, compliance requirements, and closeout documentation.
Support proposal activities involving subcontractors, including supplier inputs, SOW development, pricing assumptions, BOEs, risk inputs, deliverables, long-lead items, and execution assumptions.
Improve proposal-to-execution continuity by carrying supplier assumptions, commitments, negotiated positions, risks, and pricing logic into program startup.
Partner with Finance and Program Managers on subcontract budgets, forecasts, accruals, invoice reviews, EACs, ETCs, funding profiles, margin visibility, and supplier-driven financial risk.
Identify subcontractor risks early and drive mitigation plans before issues become customer-facing problems.
Lead supplier performance reviews and ensure actions are tracked to closure with named owners and due dates.
Support subcontract change management, including scope changes, schedule impacts, funding changes, technical trades, and contract modifications.
Maintain clear subcontract execution records that support program reviews, customer discussions, audits, internal reviews, and leadership decision-making.
Support supplier evaluations, supplier scorecards, and future source selection input based on actual performance.
Help build scalable subcontract management processes, templates, dashboards, and operating rhythms that improve execution without slowing the business down.
