About The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Automation Engineer to Lead our automation team and champion quality for our cloud‑native applications. You would lead an Agile/Scrum team, partnering closely with engineers, product owners, release stake holders to ensure quality is verified at every stage of development.
This team leader is also a technical SME(Subject Matter Expert) for the automation team, that will shape quality automation strategy, evolve QA practices, and take ownership of test automation that supports fast, reliable delivery.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership on the design, implementation, and execution of highly complex and/or high-profile test cases using Playwright, Selenium, NUnit testing framework expertise.
Design and maintain custom test automation frameworks, including compile-time consistency strategies across the stack using C#, Java, TypeScript or similar high-level language.
Develop and maintain test data management strategies using direct database manipulation. SQL Server — proficiency in database setup, management, and database-driven test scenarios.
Experience in leveraging generative and/or agentic AI in all possible aspects of automation and quality assurance to reduce manual efforts to the minimum and streamline processes.
Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools and version control systems. Mercurial (Hg) source control with TortoiseHg.
Experience in Web APIs (SOAP, OData, REST) . Co-ordinate with developers in identifying overlaps between Unit tests and automations tests.
Experience testing complex business workflows and processes. Understanding of typical ERP business logic (AP/AR, Billing, HRM, etc.).
Experience and Understanding of common automation design patterns such as the Page Object Model and robot pattern implementations.
Lead process improvements, agile scrum meetings, code reviews, defects detection and
identify strategic solutions. Achieve 100% traceability between manual Zephyr test scripts and automated tests.
Mentor and train QA staff on framework-specific patterns, best practices, and QA initiatives throughout the agile SDLC and take primary responsibility for certifying product releases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or or related field.
- 10 or more years of automation development experience.
- 4 or more years of technical lead experience.
- Proven experience and exemplary track record leading and providing directions to a team. Must lead by example.
- Technical lead helping the team resolve any technical roadblocks.
- Strong experience of Agile SCRUM development processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills across multiple onshore and offshore teams of developers, QAs and automation engineers.
