Summary

The Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary Rehabilitation - is responsible for facilitating the training of patients with pulmonary disease in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities of the program include instructing patients with how to live with chronic disease providing education and exercise.

Responsibilities

  • Provides pulmonary rehab program education and exercise classes either group or 1:1 two times per week for 6 weeks
  • Oversees the alumni maintenance exercise program offered 3 times per week
  • Provides airway clearance 1:1 sessions per physician order

Performs 6 Minute Walk Tests

  • Fulfills all compliance and database responsibilities related to this position
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Department leadership

Education Skills Experience

Minimum of Associates Degree in Respiratory Care

Minimum of 3 years job related experience

Registered Respiratory Therapist

  • State of Ct License as Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • BLS for health care providers
  • Microsoft office skills - Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation experience preferred.

  • Credentials:LRESP,RESP,BLS
