About the role:
We are looking for a Staff Component Engineer to fill a position at our Research and Development Centre located in Wigram, Christchurch.
What you will be doing
Work on the identification and evaluation of appropriate components for use in our product designs.
Working with suppliers, purchasing staff, and product development engineers from a part’s selection until its approval.
Creating and maintaining parametric data to support component selection for design engineering.
Investigating alternate component technologies and suppliers to reduce cost while improving component quality and reliability.
Supporting change management with PCN/ECR/MCO/ECO reviews and approvals in our PLM System (Arena).
Who are you and what you bring
Detail Oriented / Accurate
Integrity – Ability to say “No” when evaluating approvals
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
8+ years’ experience outside of university in Electrical Engineering.
