About The Role
Drill Fitter/HD Fitter Mechanic - FIFO or Kalgoorlie Local
FIFO from Perth Only
Field service and workshop role
Based out of
our modern Kalgoorlie-Boulder workshop
VM Drilling is a privately owned RC drilling company based in Kalgoorlie, serving clients throughout Western Australia. VM Drilling was established in 2004 as a one rig company and has grown organically to a reputable mid-size company. Today the business is operating 10+ Rigs and possesses extensive experience within the mining industry.
The key requirements of the role are
- Performing routine maintenance and major component change outs in the workshop
- Completing breakdown repairs for rigs and vehicles on site where required.
- Fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and air systems
Major
- repairs and servicing of a modern fleet of Atlas Copco/Epiroc - ROC L8
- and D65 rigs and late model Hino 500, Hino 300 support equipment
Attending
- site emergency breakdowns, including completing repairs in a timely
- manner, minimising costs to the client and ensuring productivity targets
- are still met
- Provide field service support and guidance to operations personnel to reduce downtime in the field
Undertake
- necessary risk and pre-task assessments and ensure all documentation
- and reporting is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintaining and servicing all forms of vehicles and machinery relating to efficient operation of drilling equipment and associated ancillary equipment.
- Perform maintenance on the Company's assets in a
- safe, planned and effective manner. As a key team member, you will work
- collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager, ensuring planning
- priorities are achieved.
- About you
- This position is open to both Kalgoorlie-Boulder residents and Perth-based candidates, with FIFO and various roster options available.
Ideally
- you will have been qualified for at least 3 years with previous Field
- Service experience, in particular working autonomously in remote areas
- servicing drill rigs and support equipment in the field.
- We are
- also willing to consider experienced plant mechanics that are interested
- in learning and want to gain experience in the drilling industry.
Essential Selection Criteria
Certificate III Mechanical Trade Certificate
- Previous experience working in the drilling industry, preferably with hydraulics and air systems - Atlas Copco L8 and/or D65, Schramm 685
- Current police clearance (or able to obtain)
- Working at Heights (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
Candidate
- must be able to pass a pre-employment medical in addition to any
- legislatively required or Client based medicals and/or clearance.
