Travel Medical Assistant - Maryland
Bring preventive healthcare directly to patients who need it most. In this field-based Medical Assistant role, you’ll visit patients in their homes across Washington County, Maryland and nearby coverage areas, completing wellness-focused visits that help seniors, children, and families stay healthier outside of a traditional clinic setting.
Opportunity
This is a full-time travel Medical Assistant role for someone who enjoys independent, patient-centered work and wants more meaningful time with patients than a typical exam-room schedule allows. You’ll focus on preventive care, relationship-building, and clear documentation while supporting patients in their homes.
You’ll be a strong fit if you have hands-on Medical Assistant experience, are comfortable working on the road each day, and want a weekday schedule with paid travel time and mileage reimbursement.
What You Will Own
Travel to patient homes to complete scheduled, preventive care visits
Conduct Annual Wellness Visits, Medicare wellness visits, and Well-Child Visits
Support seniors, families, and children with patient-centered care in a home-based setting
Focus on prevention, early identification of health concerns, and access to care rather than urgent care
Build trust with patients through unrushed, meaningful visits
Document visits accurately using modern EMR tools
Manage a mobile field workflow while representing a high standard of clinical professionalism
What Makes You a Strong Fit
1+ year of Medical Assistant experience
Medical Assistant credential, certification, diploma, or equivalent qualification
Hands-on clinical Medical Assistant experience
Comfortable traveling daily to patient homes
Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
Open to travel throughout Maryland and nearby states as needed based on patient coverage needs
Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
Motivated by meaningful, patient-focused work with a clear purpose
Nice-to-Haves
Experience conducting Annual Wellness Visits
Experience conducting Medicare wellness visits
Experience conducting Well-Child Visits
Prior home visit, mobile care, field-based care, or community health experience
Experience documenting patient encounters in an EMR
Compensation
The expected total compensation range is USD 31 Hourly.
Schedule & Travel
Full-time schedule
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Field-based home visits starting in Washington County, MD
Travel may extend throughout Maryland based on patient needs
Occasional nearby-state travel may be required based on coverage needs
