About the Role

We are looking for a

highly professional, disciplined, and experienced Scriptwriter

to take ownership of a significant part of SolarBalls’ writing workload.

This is a senior creative role for someone with a strong professional foundation in storytelling who can consistently produce high-quality work within an established IP. SolarBalls has millions of viewers, an established universe, complex characters and relationships, ongoing storylines, and a distinctive voice. You will need to immerse yourself in this world and develop new stories that expand the universe while staying true to what audiences love.

You will work closely with

Alvaro Calmet, the creator and creative director of SolarBalls

, alongside a dedicated Script Editor and Researcher who will support continuity and narrative consistency. You will own script development and writing through to final delivery, with Alvaro providing final creative direction and review.

The opportunity is particularly exciting because SolarBalls is still growing. There are more characters to develop, more stories to tell, new audiences to reach, and new formats and platforms to explore.

This is an opportunity to work directly with the creator of a rapidly growing global IP and help shape its next chapter.

What You'll Do

Write

5–6 high-quality SolarBalls scripts per month

, typically for long-form episodes of approximately

8 minutes

, from story development through final delivery.

Develop engaging stories and dialogue that balance comedy, drama, science, and character development, while staying true to SolarBalls’ established voice and universe.

Maintain strong continuity across characters, relationships, lore, and ongoing storylines, while identifying and resolving narrative or pacing issues proactively.

Research scientific and historical concepts accurately and integrate them naturally into entertaining stories.

Work closely with the Script Editor and Researcher to develop and refine scripts, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and ensure scripts are production-ready before final creative review.

• to understand and execute the broader creative vision, incorporating his feedback while bringing your own ideas and creative judgment to the work.
• Consistently meet production deadlines and maintain a high standard of writing across every script.
• Write shorter-form scripts when needed, including

• , while maintaining the same quality, character consistency, and creative standards as the long-form episodes.

Particularly strong candidates should have

• Proven professional experience as a
• scriptwriter, screenwriter, television writer, animation writer, game writer, or in a closely related narrative role
• , with a strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling, dialogue, character development, and narrative structure.
• Experience working on an
• established series, IP, or fictional universe
• , ideally within a professional entertainment production environment.
• A strong understanding of
• story structure, pacing, character arcs, comedy, drama, and narrative continuity
• , with excellent written English and natural dialogue.
• Strong research skills, genuine curiosity, and
• exceptional attention to detail
• , particularly when working with scientific and educational subject matter.
