About The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated

Special Education Assistant Teacher

to work alongside our lead SPED teacher. You will help deliver individualized instruction, provide classroom support, and assist students in developing academic, social, and life skills in accordance with their Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities tailored to students’ IEP goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students in developing academic skills, social skills, and independence.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies.
  • Monitor and document student progress and share observations with the lead teacher.
  • Help with classroom setup, organization, and preparation of learning materials.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and break times.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to ensure consistent support for students.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or any related field (

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year working with children in a special education setting (
