About The Role

Why Paynovate?

Paynovate is a Belgium-based fintech with more than 80 talented employees. We’re building a company where ownership, initiative, and impact are expected. As a regulated e-money institution, we design and operate payment solutions across acquiring, payment accounts, and payment services. As we continue to scale, we are reaching an important inflection point: moving from a project-driven organisation to a true product organisation.

Today, our Payment Accounts stack is a critical foundation for everything we build, but we need to strengthen how we structure and <deliver. To> support this, we are looking for a

Your Mission

  • You will start by understanding how the product is actually used, where it breaks, and where the real pain points are.
  • You will then own and evolve our

Payment Accounts

products into a scalable, reliable, and customer-driven platform.

This is not just about managing a roadmap. You will play a key role in shaping how Product operates at Paynovate, an environment where priorities can evolve, ownership is still being clarified, and alignment across teams is key to delivery.

You will

  • Take ownership of a critical product domain
  • Engage directly with clients, agents, and partners from day one
  • Define what success looks like and introduce relevant product metrics
  • Bring structure to how Product collaborates with Engineering and Operations
  • Help shift the organisation from project delivery to product outcomes
  • First priorities

You will contribute to and drive several high-impact initiatives, including

  • Strengthening scalability and reducing operational friction
  • Creating redundancy across key partners (new integrations)

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product
  • Drive roadmap and priorities for Payment Accounts
  • Make trade-offs between business needs, technical constraints, and user experience
  • Focus on outcomes rather than output
  • Stay close to users
  • Engage directly with clients, agents, and partners
  • Understand real pain points and usage patterns
  • Translate insights into product decisions
  • Drive execution
  • Improve product reliability and reduce operational and support friction
  • Ensure initiatives are clearly scoped before development
  • Ensure topics actually move forward and get delivered in production
  • Manage dependencies and unblock teams
  • Build product practices
  • Improve documentation, clarity, and ways of working
  • Strengthen collaboration between Product, Engineering, and Operations
  • Contribute to structuring the Product function
  • Use data to drive decisions
  • Define and track meaningful product metrics (usage, reliability, performance, cost)
  • Validate assumptions with data
  • Is this you?

You’re comfortable with

  • Payment rails (SEPA, IBANs, SWIFT, cross-border payments)
  • Compliance basics (KYC/KYB, AML, transaction monitoring)
  • System integrations (APIs, partners, dependencies)

You bring

  • 5+ years in Product Management (not only project management)
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or banking, with hands-on exposure to complex payment or financial systems in production
  • Experience dealing with production issues, system limitations, or scalability challenges
  • A strong focus on customers and real problems

How you work

  • You bring structure in ambiguous environments
  • You take ownership and drive topics forward
  • You’re comfortable working on technical topics
  • You use data to support decisions (metrics, dashboards, basic querying)

What We Offer

An impactful role at the core of our product ecosystem.

You will

  • Own a critical product domain with real business impact
  • Contribute directly to how Product operates at company level
  • Work in a fast-moving environment where decisions turn into action
  • Be part of a team where ownership, collaboration, and execution matter
  • A dynamic environment full of growth opportunities, where your role goes beyond delivery. You help shape how we build.
  • A modern and flexible working environment, where hybrid work is part of how we operate.
  • If you’re excited about building, structuring, and delivering in a real-world payments environment, we’d love to hear from you.
