About The Role

The Impact You'll Make Danfoss is looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as an Automation Technician supporting our 2nd shift production operations. Our Automation Technician's install, maintain, and troubleshoot our automation systems throughout our manufacturing environment. This includes working with our engineering team and maintenance in upgrading processes, troubleshooting down equipment, and installing new components. Our processes include state of the art technology such as advanced manufacturing execution systems (MES), PLCs, advanced vision systems, robotics, self-driving vehicles, human/machine interfaces (HMIs), and advanced sensors. Our second shift is 2pm-10pm. What You’ll Be Doing Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Troubleshooting non-function components alongside our maintenance and engineering teams Install and maintain automation systems such as PLCs, sensors, I/O, end of line switches, and motion control systems Inform leadership of at-risk systems and recommended solutions to reduce component failure risk Utilize troubleshooting skills and documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, or code documentation What We're Looking For Required (qualifications • 2-year degree in automation systems, mechatronics, or related field • Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics • Practical and logical approach to problem-solving • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills • Technical project management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines Preferred qualifications • 4-year degree in Industrial Technology, or related engineering field • 2-4 experience, but open to entry level and will provide training • Knowledge of PLC programming and support desired • Knowledge or formal robotic training desired Job Criteria • Being able to communicate technical knowledge to both technical and non-technical groups. • Ability to affect change in areas you do not have control over. • Time management skills. • Being able to prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to be detail-oriented and to dive deep into very complex systems. • Position requires a high level of self-learning, augmented by mentoring. • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Flexibility to temporarily change shifts with advanced notice to help cover gaps in support coverage.
