Job Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for operating grinding equipment, performing tool and blade sharpening, and carrying out cleaning and maintenance of machinery components to ensure optimal equipment performance and production efficiency. The role requires attention to detail, patience, and a willingness to learn technical maintenance procedures. Key Responsibilities Operate external cylindrical grinding equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and safety standards. Perform grinding, sharpening, and maintenance of production tools, blades, and cutting instruments to ensure optimal performance. Conduct routine cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of glue machine components and related equipment. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor mechanical issues affecting production equipment. Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain proper housekeeping of work areas, tools, and maintenance equipment. Follow preventive maintenance schedules and support continuous improvement initiatives. Report equipment defects, abnormalities, and maintenance requirements to supervisors. Adhere to all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities as required. Qualifications Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Fresh graduates or candidates with relevant maintenance experience are encouraged to apply. Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, tools, and maintenance practices is an advantage.
