The Alfred University Assistant Head Cross Country & Track & Field Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with the organization and management of the NCAA Division (Ill) men's and women's cross country, indoor, and outdoor track and field programs. Essential Functions

Teaching and Coaching

Qualifications-Education & Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Formal Education

Bachelor's degree is required; master's degree is preferred with preference in education, health science, sport management, or related field.

Experience

A minimum of four years as a collegiate cross country and track & field student-athlete and/or coach is required. A minimum of two years of collegiate track and field coaching is required. Demonstrated successful recruiting and retention of cross-country and track and field student-athletes, preferably at NCAA Division (Ill), is

required.

Additional Knowledge/Skills

Proven organizational skills as well as a recognizable commitment to student growth and academic achievement. An overall knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required

Certification as a strength and conditioning professional is an asset (e.g

NSCA-CSCS). The successful applicant must be a person of integrity, high ethical standards, have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and have a commitment to teamwork

Competence with technology resources and a current U

S. driver's license are vital to fulfilling the responsibilities of this position

First Aid, AED, and CPR certification is required by the start date. The candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends.

Personal Protective Equipment must be worn when required. A respiratory function test and the ability to use respirators may be required.
