About The Role
Duties
- A Clinical Psychologist is mainly deployed on
- (a) providing counselling and critical incident psychological support services for Force members;
- (b) conducting training courses in psychological aspects of Police work;
- (c) running psychological wellness promotion programmes for Force members;
- (d) providing organisational psychological support to police recruitment and selection;
- (e) rendering psychological support to police operations and crime investigation; and
- (f) conducting research on topics related to policing.
- (Note: May be required to work irregular hours.)
Entry Requirements
Candidates should have
(a) a Master Degree in Clinical Psychology from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent [Note (1)];
(b) met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 2’ result in the Use of English paper and ‘Level 1’ result in the Use of Chinese paper in the Common Recruitment Examination, or equivalent [Note (2)]; and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English; and
(c) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law test [Note (3)].
(Note: Preference will be given to candidates who are members of the Register of Clinical Psychologists accredited by the Department of Health.)
Pay
Master Pay Scale Point 27 (HK$63,100 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 44 (HK$122,045 per month)
Terms of Appointment
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.

Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about 8 to 10 weeks from the closing date for application.
