About The Role
Duties
A Clinical Psychologist is mainly deployed on (a) conducting psychological assessments on persons in custody (PICs) for the courts and for the relevant review boards; (b) providing counselling for PICs; (c) advising, developing and implementing treatment programmes for the rehabilitation of PICs; (d) conducting relevant training for staff; (e) conducting work-related researches/studies; and (f) providing psychological treatment for staff and their family members as necessary.
(Note: The appointee will be subject to the provisions of the Prisons Ordinance.)
Entry Requirements
Candidates should (a) have a Master degree in Clinical Psychology from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent [General Note (a)]; (b) meet the language proficiency requirement of ‘Level 2’ result in the Use of English paper and ‘Level 1’ result in the Use of Chinese paper in the Common Recruitment Examination, or equivalent [Notes (iv) to (vii) under Entry Requirements]; (c) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English; and (d) have a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test [Note (viii) under Entry Requirements].
Pay
Master Pay Scale Point 27 ($63,100) to Master Pay Scale Point 44 ($122,045) per month.
Terms of Appointment
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
