About The Role
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview of Role/Job Purpose
The Software Engineer III is a senior-level engineering role that applies engineering principles to the software development lifecycle, with a focus on designing, developing, and maintaining complex, scalable SaaS applications built on Microsoft technologies. This role emphasizes a systematic approach to architecture and scalability, ensuring that distributed systems operate reliably and cohesively.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, customer-centric software. This role also expects fluency in AI-assisted engineering: using coding agents such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot within a spec-driven workflow, where written specifications, acceptance criteria, and design intent drive agent-generated implementation that the engineer reviews, tests, and remains accountable for.
Essential Duties
- Lead the design and implementation of complex features and services across the SaaS platform using C# and .NET.
- Collaborate with architects and product managers to define technical requirements and system architecture.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code across the full stack, including Blazor and ASP.NET http://ASP.NET MVC.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues in distributed systems.
- Contribute to the evolution of engineering best practices, tools, and development processes.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-functional technical discussions.
- Apply design patterns and SOLID principles to ensure maintainable and extensible code.
- Implement unit testing using MSTest, xUnit, or NUnit.
- Utilize Domain-Driven Design and microservices architecture to support scalable solutions.
- Practice spec-driven development: author precise, testable specifications, acceptance
- criteria, and lightweight design docs that AI agents implement against, then review and refine the resulting code.
- Use AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate feature delivery, refactoring, test generation, and documentation, while retaining ownership of correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Help establish team standards for AI-assisted engineering, including context and prompt patterns, repository-level agent instructions (e.g., CLAUDE.md http://CLAUDE.md, copilot-instructions.md http://copilot-instructions.md), and human review gates for agent-generated code.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–8 years of professional software development experience, preferably in a SaaS or cloud-native environment.
- Proficiency in C# and .NET Core/.NET Framework.
- Experience with Microsoft front-end and back-end frameworks including Blazor and ASP.NET http://ASP.NET MVC.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs using .NET, microservices architecture, and relational/non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure Cosmos DB).
- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps), and Agile development practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service).
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights) and performance tuning.
- Background in SaaS-specific challenges such as multi-tenancy, usage metering, and feature flagging.
- Experience with NuGet packages such as AutoMapper, MediatR, FluentValidation, and Entity Framework Core.
- Experience with agentic development workflows and tooling (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub
- Copilot agent mode, Model Context Protocol servers) integrated into CI/CD.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated code for security, licensing, and quality risk, and defining guardrails for team-wide adoption.
- Exposure to building AI-enabled product features (e.g., Azure OpenAI, retrieval- augmented generation, prompt orchestration).
