Position Overview The Team Leader – UK Accounts is responsible for managing a team of UK accounting executives, reviewing their work, ensuring accuracy of statutory financial statements, and maintaining high-quality client delivery. The role involves overseeing UK accounts preparation, VAT and payroll reconciliation, corporation tax workings, year ‑ end schedules, and direct coordination with UK clients. The Team Leader also ensures compliance with UK accounting standards and drives team performance through training, review, and effective workflow management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Team Leadership & Review Lead, manage, and mentor a team of UK Accounts Executives. Review team members’ deliverables including financial statements, VAT workings, payroll summaries, and year-end schedules. Conduct regular feedback sessions, coaching, and performance reviews. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to UK accounting and compliance standards. UK Financial Statements & Year ‑ End Accounts Oversee preparation of Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Accounts for UK companies and firms. Review final accounts with compliance to FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105. Approve year-end working papers including control accounts, schedules, and reconciliations. Perform high-level P&L variance analysis and analytical review for anomalies. VAT, Payroll & Tax Compliance Supervise preparation of VAT reconciliations, VAT workings (standard VAT schemes), and related submissions. Review payroll summaries and payroll-related reconciliations. Oversee corporation tax workings, including allowable and disallowable expense analysis for CT600 preparation. Client Management & Communication Maintain daily communication with UK-based clients regarding information requests, clarifications, and progress updates. Ensure adherence to turnaround time (TAT) and client service level agreements. Handle escalations and resolve client issues promptly and professionally. Build and sustain long-term client relationships through consistent high-quality delivery. Quality Control & Process Management Ensure all working papers meet audit ‑ ready standards and internal documentation guidelines. Monitor overall team productivity, accuracy, and workload allocation. Identify process gaps and implement improvements for efficiency and quality. Conduct quality checks before submission to managers or UK onshore teams. Training, Development & Knowledge Sharing Organize training sessions on UK accounting standards (FRS 102/105), VAT schemes, CT basics, reconciliations, and year ‑ end processes. Support new joiners with onboarding and knowledge transfer. Promote a culture of continuous learning, accuracy, and client-first mindset. Key Success Measures Client – Client Satisfaction, Associate Retention and Attraction Financial – Reduced cost-to-serve/optimization, Profitability improvement Operational – Defined Structure, Improved Employee Value Proposition People – Higher associate engagement, lower attrition Education, Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Commerce , Accounting, or Finance 5+ Years of Experience Experience in UK accounting/outsourced accounting roles preferred Knowledge of UK tax and statutory compliance is an added advantage Software knowledge of QuickBooks/XERO/Surf/ Taxcalc /IRIS/CCH/ Digita etc. Strong knowledge of UK accounting concepts (FRS 102 1A, FRS 105). Proficiency in VAT, payroll reconciliation, and corporation tax basics. Prior team management or TL-level experience preferred. Strong analytical and reconciliation skills. Excellent communication skills for daily client interaction. Ability to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work consistently. Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel. Shift Timings 12:30 PM IST – 10:00 PM IST (Indian Summers) 01:30 PM IST – 11:00 PM IST (Indian Winters)
