Location of classes: Downtown Oshawa campus location Course Start Date: September 8, 2026 Course End Date: December 23, 2026 Reporting to the Dean and working in close collaboration with the BEd Program Director, the Sessional Instructor provides instruction to B.Ed students in the Faculty of Education. Responsibilities/Accountabilities: The instructor will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instruction in the Primary/Junior Arts course, drawing on demonstrated expertise in at least two of the four Ontario Arts curriculum strands: Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts. Working collaboratively with another Arts instructor whose expertise complements their own , the successful candidate will contribute to a cohesive course that reflects the breadth of the Ontario Arts curriculum. The instructor will design learning experiences that engage teacher candidates in learning in, about, and through the arts, with an emphasis on the creative process, accessibility, equity, cultural responsiveness, and interdisciplinary connections. Responsibilities include modelling effective arts pedagogy, integrating inclusive and inquiry-based instructional approaches, and fostering teacher candidates' understanding of authentic, equitable, and curriculum aligned assessment and evaluation practices. The instructor will provide timely and constructive feedback to teacher candidates and foster reflective professional practice. The instructor will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency across course sections.
