Pay and People (PAP) sits within our Finance Function Support department and delivers payroll and HR software and solutions to a wide range of clients, from entrepreneurial businesses to international organisations across sectors including manufacturing, retail and hospitality. The team combines expertise across employment tax, employment legal, payroll, HR, equity reward and global mobility, offering clients a seamless, multidisciplinary service while creating a collaborative and supportive environment for our people. As a Payroll Assistant, you’ll join a welcoming and growing team, gaining hands-on client experience quickly while working towards owning your own portfolio. You’ll receive on-the-job support, access to internal training and mentoring, and work towards the Payroll Administrator Level 3 qualification, typically completed within 12–18 months. You’ll make an impact by: Assisting with the accurate and timely in-house payroll production for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations and payroll deadlines. Gaining knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations, including UK Tax legislation. Applying changes to client payroll records including, starters, leavers, absences, salary changes, pension deductions and various other pay adjustments. Processing payments on behalf of our clients. Submitting reports to HMRC in line with statutory deadlines. Assisting with client enquiries and provide high standard of communication. Working towards owning your own portfolio of clients where you will process the end-to-end payroll and build strong relationships with your clients. Creating and running reports for clients, using our inhouse systems and Microsoft Excel. Assisting with client billing and month end procedures. Carrying out other duties which are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the line manager or Head of Department.
