About The Role

Essential Job Duties: Continues to participate in current areas of patient care, including the following: Demonstrates professional qualities and organizational commitment as befits this position. May assist in orienting/training staff members upon request. Exercises the skills, safeguards, and professional conduct of a Licensed Therapist (PT, PTA, OT, OTA, or SLP). Responsible for reporting breakdown of necessary support services and providing suggestions for improvement in services to Manager and/or Director. Communicates on a regular, if not daily, basis with Manager for administrative needs, supply needs, staff concerns, and implementation of therapy staff programs or daily functions. Assists Manager in daily operations. This may include, but is not limited to: Assessment of upcoming/daily patient volumes, staffing needs, and opportunities to maximize efficiency Communication regarding daily staffing needs with Manager and other departments’ Senior Therapists in Manager’s absence Notification to Manager of any staff concerns that may arise Co-signing within scope of practice and state guidelines, supervising, and ensuring availability as a resource for other clinicians Monitors and updates both patient POC and established goals within state practice act and organizational timelines to ensure optimal provision of care from PTAs/OTAs Oversees other therapy and clinical staff in the absence of Manager. All concerns elevated to Manager. Assists Site Clinical Coordinator for Education (SCCE) with overseeing PT/PTA, OT/OTA, or SLP clinical students in their location and elevating concerns to SCCE and/or Manager Assesses and assists with implementation of therapy staffing needs after discussion with the Manager. Assists (as necessary) in daily determination of assignment of therapy teams or schedules with regard to admissions/evaluations, reassessment needs, and discharges. Demonstrates knowledge and clinical competence within personal area of clinical care, possibly including but not limited to: Orthotic fitting, training, and management, following organizational protocols to ensure reimbursement CMS and payor guidelines and requirements specific to inpatient acute, inpatient rehab, and outpatient therapy settings Contributes to a high-performance work environment by seeking additional resources that enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills Assists with annual implementation of therapy skills checkoffs, educational in-services, and maintaining a departmental/organizational therapy competency schedule. Completes other duties and special projects as assigned or requested from Manager or Director. Assists with departmental Performance Improvement projects. Assists with development and implementation of new programs or processes. Secondary Job Duties: Maintains adequate supplies, assists in keeping department clean and ready for patient treatment. Participates within departmental expectation of rotations per Physical Medicine policy, which may include a holiday and/or weekend rotation. Ensures that the Manager is informed of all staff meetings, to be attended at their discretion and availability. Meets regularly with Manager, Director, and other Senior Therapy team. Assists with communicating and disseminating departmental and organizational information within their home department/clinic.

Education: Graduate of an accredited therapy program. Attend continuing education courses to maintain/improve job skills. Maintain active state licensure. Experience: 5 years' experience preferred. Prior supervisory experience or specialization preferred.
