Clinical Nurse Specialist - Anesthesiology (Pain)

The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Anesthesiology (Pain) is responsible for working closely with the Anesthesiology physicians to facilitate safe and efficient provision of anesthesia services to patients. This position focuses mainly on duties associated with the running of the departmental pain service for Pediatric and/or Adult (Women and Obstetric) patients. This involves assisting with assessment, education, consent, administration, documentation and instruction for patients who receive care from the Anesthesia Department Acute and/or Chronic Pain service for pediatric and when required for adult patients. The incumbent assists the Attending Anesthesiologist in clinics and pain rounds and works in association with and under the supervision of Anesthesiology physicians to facilitate safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia-related services.
