About The Role

Why join us?

We’re on a mission to empower people with disabilities to do what they once did or never thought possible. As the world-leader in assistive communication solutions, we empower our customers to express themselves, connect with the world, and live richer lives.

At Tobii Dynavox, you can grow your career within a dynamic, global company that has a clear, impactful purpose - with the flexibility to also do what truly matters to you outside of work. What’s more, you’ll be part of a work culture where collaboration is the norm and individuality is welcomed.

As a member of our team, you’ll have the power to make it happen. You’ll solve challenges, deliver solutions and develop new, efficient processes that make a direct impact on our customers’ lives.

About the role

As an Assistive Technology Support Technician, you will join our Tech Operations team, which our assistive communication technology users, therapists, colleagues and partners turn to when they need help.

You will be the voice of Tobii Dynavox, providing high-quality technical support through multiple channels across Australia and New Zealand while developing an in-depth understanding of our product portfolio. You will report to our Tech Operations Manager and collaborate closely with other Support and Repair colleagues and cross-functional teams across Australia and around the world.

Please note: This is a permanent, full-time (4-5 days a week) and on-site role based in our office in Tonsley, Adelaide. Preferred start date is early December 2026.

In this role you will

  • Assist customers, partners, and internal colleagues with any technical inquiries and supporting requests about our products.
  • Nurture and maintain strong customer relationships by demonstrating empathy, patience, and commitment to their success, whatever that looks like to them.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues across our hardware and software platforms in Windows and iOS environments via phone, email, chat and remote desktop sessions, collaborating with developers and other stakeholders when necessary.
  • Build understanding of product features, functionalities and best practices, empowering users and stakeholders to resolve issues independently.
  • Prepare new devices for customer use, reset devices for shipping, and maintain accurate customer and device records in relevant systems.
  • Contribute practical ideas that improve our processes, service, and customer outcomes.

Who you are

You ask clear questions, listen carefully, and explain solutions in a way users can understand. You manage your time effectively, balancing several cases and communication channels while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. You are curious about assistive technology and patient in learning about users' needs. You take ownership of your work and adapt as priorities change.

Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who shares our values. You collaborate well with colleagues across teams, approach challenges with curiosity and a problem-solving mindset, and treat others with empathy, respect and consideration. You're open to feedback and are eager to continuously develop your skills and grow your product knowledge while helping us deliver the best possible experience for our users.

Ideal candidates would bring:

  • Experience in a customer-facing role, such as customer service, technical support or product support, preferably involving troubleshooting in a Windows or iOS environment. Familiarity with macOS is preferred.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and time-management skills to manage multiple cases, calls and scheduled support sessions accurately and effectively.
  • Attention to detail, patience, empathy and active listening skills to ask effective questions, resolve technical issues and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills to work across local and global teams and explain technical information to people with different levels of technical knowledge.

The following experience would be valuable but is not required:

  • Experience with supporting people with disabilities or complex communication needs.
  • Experience troubleshooting mounting systems or wheelchairs.
  • Experience with CRM systems, such as Salesforce.

Please note: You don't need to be an IT expert. What matters to us most is your curiosity about tech and assistive technology, willingness to learn, and passion to help others. We value technical background and any hands-on troubleshooting experience as well as customer-facing experience you bring.
