Senior Software Engineer (International)

Join Robinhood's International engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will be a core technical driver for the company's global expansion initiatives, bridging high-performance frontend interfaces with resilient backend distributed systems. You will design reusable, extensible platform abstractions, lead complex technical designs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build financial products for a worldwide community. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience and a strong background in both frontend and backend development.

• Backend & Distributed Systems: Strong experience building scalable distributed services in languages such as Go or Python, utilizing relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis), and working with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka)
• Frontend Depth: Proficiency with modern frontend technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript) with an emphasis on performance, accessibility, and state management
• Communication & Alignment: Clear, structured communication skills to articulate trade-offs, drive technical consensus across distributed teams, and align with non-technical stakeholders
• API & Systems Design: Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, gRPC, service-oriented architectures, and microservice integration patterns
• Product Ownership: Proven track record of taking complex features from ambiguity through technical design, phased rollout, production validation, and post-launch maintenance
• Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production systems across the full stack
