Senior Health & Safety Engineer

As a Senior Health & Safety Engineer, you will provide independent leadership and strategic direction for health, safety, environment, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle. You will establish a robust HSER framework, promote a proactive safety culture, and lead critical risk-management activities. This role requires a university degree in engineering or a related discipline, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and a strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation.

• Lead the HSER strategy, governance and assurance framework for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with Nexans’ management system, contractual obligations and UK regulatory requirements.
• Independently lead the development, implementation and maintenance of project HSER plans, procedures, controls and reporting arrangements from tender through to project close-out.
• Provide visible leadership and promote a proactive Safety First culture across project offices, manufacturing locations, marine and land installation sites, subcontractors and suppliers; intervene decisively where work is unsafe.
