Principal Full-Stack Developer (Core)

Join MaintainX, a leading CMMS platform, as a Principal Full-Stack Developer. In this role, you will be at the heart of our product, working on core functionalities such as work orders, planning and scheduling, inventory management, reporting, and asset hierarchy. You will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of our workflows, solve complex product problems, and lead the design and delivery of large projects. You will also mentor other engineers and drive improvements in tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams.

• Set the technical direction for workflows related to scheduling, parts management, and reporting, and solve complex product problems.
• Define architecture and engineering practices for newly formed teams, and lead the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers, set the standard for code review, and drive architecture decisions across teams.

• Strong written and verbal communication: you can explain a technical tradeoff to a designer, a support lead, or an executive as easily as to another developer
• Comfort making progress on a problem before the spec is fully settled, adjusting as you learn more
• Nice to have: GraphQL, React Native, or SQL database experience. For this area, we also value: Experience with scheduling or calendar UIs, data-heavy front ends, offline-first or sync architectures, multi-tenant or enterprise platforms, workflow engines, or inventory and transactional systems
• 10+ years of professional experience building full-stack web or mobile products, including a track record of leading technical work at a scope beyond a single team
• Experience designing systems that held up at scale, and the judgment to know when not to build something
• A track record of writing maintainable, testable code you’re comfortable handing off to someone else
• Day-to-day use of AI tools in your development workflow, not just occasional experimentation
• Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
• Experience with mobile-first, responsive, iterative development
