Senior Technical Accountant

Join LemFi as a Senior Technical Accountant, where you will be the go-to authority on accounting practices. You will own the Group accounting policy manual, write technical papers on key judgment areas, and partner closely with Global Finance Operations and Reconciliation and Strategic Finance. This hands-on role requires strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and experience in the financial services industry.

• Ownership of the Group accounting policy manual, writing technical papers on key judgement areas, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local frameworks.
• Leading on technical audit areas, being the main contact for auditors on complex technical questions, and ensuring no material audit adjustments in your areas.
• Assessing accounting treatment for new products, markets, partnerships, and funding facilities before launch, and working with cross-functional teams.

• This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys hard accounting questions and explains the answers clearly
• ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent qualification, with 7 or more years of post-qualification experience
• A hands-on approach: as comfortable posting a complex journal as writing the policy paper that justifies it
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, and solid working knowledge of FRS 102 or IFRS
• Experience with credit loss accounting under CECL or IFRS 9
• A background in Big 4 (or similar) audit, ideally in financial services, or in a technical accounting team in-house
• Direct experience in a remittance, payments, e-money or similarly regulated financial services business - as an auditor or in-house
• Clear, concise technical writing and the confidence to defend a position with auditors and senior stakeholders
• Experience designing accounting rules for ERP or automation projects, ideally in NetSuite
• Experience in US GAAP consolidation for a multi-entity international group
• Exposure to share-based payments, debt facilities or equity fundraising accounting
