Senior Fullstack Engineer

**This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer based in India.**

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and scaling a global SaaS platform that connects communities with volunteer opportunities and supports large-scale events and social initiatives. You will work across the frontend and backend to build reliable, high-performance applications using modern technologies, including Laravel, PHP, React, Next.js, and AWS. Collaborating with product, design, QA, and engineering teams, you will deliver customer-focused features while contributing to architectural evolution and engineering excellence. You will help advance a transition toward event-driven architecture and domain-driven development, with a strong focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance. You will also champion automated testing, accessibility, localization, and security-conscious development practices. Accountabilities

• **Full-stack development:** Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable product features across the frontend and backend using Laravel, PHP, React, Next.js, and other relevant technologies.
• **API and integration development:** Build and maintain robust APIs, third-party integrations, and reusable software components that support the platform's evolving business requirements.
• **Architecture and technical evolution:** Contribute to the platform's architectural improvements, including the transition toward event-driven architecture and domain-driven development, while supporting a modular monolith approach where appropriate.
• **Cloud-native engineering:** Develop and maintain applications within AWS-based environments, leveraging technologies such as Kubernetes (EKS), CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools to improve reliability and scalability.
• **Database design and optimization:** Design, implement, and optimize relational data models using Aurora MySQL, PostgreSQL, and related technologies to support performance, data integrity, and long-term growth.
• **Quality engineering and testing:** Establish and maintain effective test strategies, write unit tests, improve automated testing frameworks, monitor pipeline health, and proactively prevent regressions.
• **Performance and reliability:** Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot complex issues, and continuously improve application performance, system stability, and overall software quality.
• **Cross-functional collaboration:** Partner with Product, Design, QA, and other engineering stakeholders to scope features, understand user needs, and deliver solutions that create measurable customer value.
• **Technical leadership and mentorship:** Lead by example through high-quality code, peer reviews, technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge sharing to strengthen engineering standards across the team.
• **Engineering strategy and discovery:** Participate in technical discovery, feature scoping, architectural discussions, and implementation planning, helping shape medium-term technical decisions and product direction.
• **Accessibility and localization:** Ensure the platform delivers accessible, inclusive, and localized experiences for users across multiple countries and regions.
• **Security and compliance:** Apply security-conscious engineering practices and support compliance requirements aligned with frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
• **AI-assisted development:** Use AI-powered coding assistants and automation tools to accelerate feature delivery, improve testing, and streamline development workflows. Where appropriate, contribute to AI-enhanced product experiences using large language model APIs and prompt design.
• **Documentation and knowledge management:** Maintain clear technical documentation covering code, architectural decisions, implementation details, and operational processes to support collaboration and long-term maintainability.
• **Continuous improvement:** Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, platform architecture, product quality, and engineering processes while taking ownership of technical challenges from discovery through delivery.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience building and delivering SaaS products end to end, ideally in multi-region or globally distributed environments.
• Strong full-stack engineering expertise, with the ability to work confidently across frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and databases.
• Proficiency in Laravel or modern PHP frameworks, alongside experience with contemporary frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, or Vue.
• Practical experience with debugging tools such as XDebug, writing unit tests, conducting code reviews, and maintaining high standards of code quality.
• Experience designing and developing scalable APIs, integrations, reusable components, and maintainable software architectures.
• Familiarity with mobile application development, particularly React Native, is beneficial.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes or EKS, CI/CD pipelines, and application observability.
• Understanding of modular monolith architectures, with the ability to contribute to architectural improvements and maintain clear domain boundaries.
• Strong experience with relational databases, particularly Aurora MySQL or PostgreSQL, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, and messaging technologies such as AWS SQS, Kafka, or Pub/Sub is advantageous.
• Experience working in security-conscious or compliance-regulated environments, particularly those aligned with ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, localization, scalability, and the needs of users operating across different markets.
• A strong testing mindset, including test strategy development, automated validation, regression prevention, and continuous monitoring of pipeline health.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Gemini, and the ability to use them effectively to improve development speed and quality.
• Experience integrating generative AI into product features through LLM APIs, prompt design, or AI-enabled workflows is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues, take initiative, and deliver practical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a documentation-first mindset and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly.
• A product-oriented approach, with a genuine interest in understanding customer needs and delivering accessible, reliable, and valuable user experiences.
• Demonstrated leadership through influence, including mentoring peers, sharing knowledge, raising engineering standards, and helping teams navigate ambiguity.

**Additional experience that would be advantageous:**

• Experience with data and analytics platforms such as Looker, BigQuery, or analytics pipelines.
• Familiarity with frontend architecture, design systems, and shared component libraries.
• Experience with platform engineering, reusable infrastructure, or shared services within modular monolith architectures.
• Exposure to AI-powered development tools, AI-driven product capabilities, or automated code-generation workflows.
