Senior Hardware Test Engineer (PCBA)

About The Role
Join our Manufacturing Test Engineering Team as a Senior Hardware Test Engineer. In this role, you will collaborate with design engineers to develop board-level tests, design and develop test fixtures, test hardware, and test software. You will also drive the strategy and approach to PCBA test for manufacturing, troubleshoot failures, and continuously improve test software and hardware. - Collaborate with design engineers to develop board-level tests and be responsible for designing and developing the test fixtures, test hardware, and test software.
- Drive the strategy and approach to PCBA test for manufacturing, including the design, validation, and deployment of test fixtures.
- Develop the automation and test scripts to functionally test the hardware through various stages of manufacturing, and continuously improve test software and hardware.
- Ability to read and interpret PCBA schematics and use them to design tests and troubleshoot hardware
- Experience creating system diagrams as well as detailed wiring diagrams
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Familiarity with measurement hardware and test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, analog and digital I/O, data acquisition systems, switch matrices, relay banks, and signal conditioning
- Experience troubleshooting hardware/software issues and identifying root causes
- Comfortable using Linux
- 6+ years of experience in PCBA testing or manufacturing electrical test development
- Experience programming in Python, especially functional tests of hardware
- Experience with JTAG/boundary scan and bed-of-nail testers
- Experience with DVCS such as git or mercurial
- Experience in design and layout of PCBA’s for adapting or interfacing with test hardware
- Advanced Python programming skills with a track record of developing and contributing to a large and complex code base
- Experience designing, building, validating, troubleshooting, and deploying boundary scan and bed-of-nails testers
- Experience developing functional tests from the ground up including the development of test requirements, pass/fail criteria, test station hardware, and procedures
- Experience in design, manufacturing, or test of satellite or aerospace hardware
- Experience using Altium
