Forklift Mechanic

Inspect, service, maintain, and repair forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and transmission faults. Conduct routine preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing of forklifts. Inspect engines, brakes, steering systems, transmissions, hydraulics, tyres, forks, chains, and lifting mechanisms. Repair or replace faulty, worn, or damaged components. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, batteries, starters, alternators, and control systems. Check and maintain hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, hoses, and valves. Perform engine oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and other routine servicing. Test forklifts after repairs to ensure they are safe and fully operational. Respond promptly to forklift breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime. Conduct safety inspections and identify potential mechanical hazards. Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, inspections, and spare parts used. Ensure forklifts comply with manufacturer specifications and workplace safety requirements. Work closely with forklift operators to identify and resolve equipment problems.
