About The Role

Schedule: All shifts are 8 hours, with a two-week rotating schedule that includes every other weekend.

POSITION SUMMARY
Provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Is familiar with applicable regulations. Will supervise and coordinate the activities of certified nursing assistants in performing effective resident care on the designated tour of duty. Maintains clinical and professional competency. Assists with the managerial aspects of the unit, including quality assessments, problem solving, motivation of staff and evaluations. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transcribes, verifies and implements physician’s orders.
  • Administers medications in a safe and timely manner and completes appropriate documentation.
  • Reports significant changes in condition to physician, supervisor and family.
  • Documents episodic events on residents as well as completes all required documentation, including checking MARs, Treatment Sheets and monthly summaries in a timely and accurate manner. Updates resident’s Care Plan as appropriate.
  • Makes regular rounds to assess resident care, environmental safety and employee performance.
  • Attends a minimum of 24 hours of education and/or CEU annually, including mandatory in-services. Certified in CPR.
  • Assigns resident care according to the needs of the resident and the unit. Participates in change of shift report.
  • Counsels and/or disciplines CNAs per facility policy. Assists with staff evaluations.
  • Assists in the planning, implementation and delivery of activities for residents.
  • Implements QA recommendations.
  • Monitors use of supplies to maintain budget and capture chargeable items.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and resident satisfaction.

Required

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia or an active compact multistate LPN.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a nursing role.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred

  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience as an LPN role.
  • Experience in a Continuing Care and Retirement Community (CCRC) or Healthcare setting is highly desirable.
