GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Claims Support Tech handles incoming claims and claims-related correspondence, scanning of documentation, claims data validation, manual claim entry and other related work in support of the Claims Administration department
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with the operations of the Claims Administration department
• Ensures all incoming claims and claims-related correspondence is handled and processed efficiently and promptly, according to departmental procedures.
• Performs scanning and data validation and correction of paper claims documentation to ensure accuracy of claims OCR data
• Performs manual entry of submitted claims data as needed.
• Effectively prioritizes and completes all assigned tasks within appropriate timeframes and with required level of quality.
• Openly participates in team meetings, providing ideas and suggestions to ensure departmental efficiency and quality, and to promote teamwork.
• Maintain required compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards.
• Maintains or exceeds all established standards for performance, quality and timeliness.
• Supports the Claims department in review, investigation, and research of claims documentation issues.
• Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to all Health System and Health Plan policies and procedures.
• Assists with other related work responsibilities as requested.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• One year certificate from college or technical school, or one-year related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum High school graduate or GED required.
