About The Role
Job Summary
Performs skilled plumbing work across university facilities, including the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing systems and equipment. Maintains domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, and related systems to support safe, reliable campus operations and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, fixtures, valves, pumps, and piping materials.
- Ability to diagnose and repair plumbing problems.
- Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Skill in using plumbing tools and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide customer service.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of plumbing codes, practices, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and one year of experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional plumbing maintenance.
- Valid Driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Plumber license.
- Experience with institutional or university facilities.
- Experience with backflow prevention devices, pumps, boilers, and water treatment systems.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
