About The Role

Job Summary
The HVAC PM Maintenance Worker performs preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of campus HVAC and mechanical systems. This position supports the university's preventive maintenance program by maintaining equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. Work includes air handling units, exhaust systems, filters, belts, motors, pumps, coils, controls, and associated mechanical equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to inspect, test, and maintain mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment safely.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC controls and energy conservation practices.
  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and university policies.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in building maintenance, HVAC maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical training in HVAC or mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance in commercial or institutional facilities.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
