Senior Platform Engineer

About The Role
You will join Statkraft's Application & Platform team in IT Infrastructure Operations, where we are responsible for the operation, modernization, and continuous improvement of critical business applications and their underlying platforms. Working alongside highly experienced infrastructure engineers, software developers, and system managers, you will play a key role in ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable application and platform operations. We strive for operational excellence by fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous learning. The position reports to the Manager of Application & Platform in Infrastructure Operations.
In your role, you will
- Operate, maintain, and continuously improve the platforms and infrastructure supporting the company’s business-critical applications.
- Work across a diverse technology landscape (depending on your expertise), including Azure, Kubernetes, High Performance Computing (HPC), on-premise, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of application and platform services.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, and modernization initiatives, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code, AI, and engineering best practices.
- Work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with software developers, infrastructure engineers, security specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.
- Five or more years of experience with Platform or Application engineering and operations.
- Significant Azure Cloud competency.
- Significant understanding of operating models and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s or master's degree within relevant fields, or relevant work experience.
- Certifications related to cloud technologies are an advantage.
- Scripting and automation skills are an advantage.
- Experience in the Energy or Financial industries is an advantage.
